We just returned from a weekend up north, at Lassen Volcanic National Park. The Lassen Park Foundation hosted its "Day in the Park" showcasing the sights of the Lassen area, native birds, history information, trail and fire prevention work, a BBQ at Manzanita Lake and a Hike-a-Thon up Lassen Peak trail.
These two events drew participants from around the area despite some lingering smoke from the Carr and Mendocino fires. It was great to see many park supporters during the day. Here is a photo from our walk around Manzanita Lake. The view of Lassen Peak is a bit obscured by the smoke.
