While many of our 14 at-sea days were spent reading and relaxing, several were devoted to participating in food extravaganza events. Chef Prasan and his crew of 80 went all out to distract our attention. I'm sharing photos of several events but I know I missed a few - such as a paella lunch, grilled lobster dinner, grilled fish lunch and special lunch of soup with Reuben and Vegetarian sandwiches.
While we've cruised on Viking Ocean ships in the past, these events were our most memorable dining experiences.
One non-food lesson we learned on this trip: there are unpublished ship tours often available on at-sea days. The three tours on this itinerary were the galley, laundry and bridge. We were able to join a galley tour and, next cruise, would like to see how laundry is handled for cabins and restaurants, staff and guests. It is amazing how laundry is kept organized - no lost socks!
