Get Involved

I believe there are lots of opportunities for each of us to improve our community. Along this line, I support several social and environmental initiatives. Below are some of the programs that I help through labor and/or financial contributions.  There are many ways to get involved in your community - please consider helping where you can.

Alzheimer's Association: The Association works to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; provision and enhancement of care and support for all affected; and reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Lassen Park Foundation: The Lassen Park Foundation provides philanthropic support to preserve and interpret the special natural and cultural resources of Lassen Volcanic National Park and its environs for present and future generations.

Lassen Park Foundation and Lassen Volcanic National Park are planning a new camping facility which will provide greater opportunities for youth groups to camp, explore and enjoy a wilderness experience at Lassen. Crags campground will be reconstructed and converted to a permanent youth camp. The new campground will accommodate more youth groups and create strong connections between a younger generation and the park through outdoor immersion. A wide range of youth organizations including school groups and scouting organizations will be encouraged to use this designated youth campground to introduce children to their national park.

Lung Cancer Alliance: This is the leading organization dedicated to saving lives and advancing research by empowering those living with and at risk for lung cancer.

National Park Foundation: Enriches America's national parks and programs through private support, safeguarding our heritage and inspiring generations of national park enthusiasts.

Short Term Emergency Aid Committee: The mission of STEAC is to provide immediate short term assistance with basic necessities to Yolo County families and individuals with income below the poverty level. Assistance may include help with rent, utilities, furniture, clothing, food and other basic necessities.

University of California, Davis:  Higher education has been an important contributor to my professional and personal success. Advancing education by making a donation to outstanding faculty, students and/or academic programs is indeed a noble step that provides lasting benefits to current and future generations.

Yolo Food Bank: The Yolo Food Bank works to address hunger issues and make a difference in the lives of the people and communities of Yolo County.  The Food Bank coordinates the storage and distribution of food from a network of growers, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and grocery stores, while cultivating new sources of food. It serves 25,000 people each month and distributes 3 million pounds of food each year.
