Cable for Mobile Devices

Brookstone Cable
I'm always looking for ways to reduce the number of cables that we need to recharge an iPhone, iPad, iPod and Android phone and tablet during our travels. If I can also reduce the mess of cables in our carry-on bag, so much the better.  I recently came across a 3 in 1 cable that helps in this regard.

This Brookstone three foot cable connects from a USB standard 'Type A' connector to either a 'Micro' USB connector, iPad lightning connector or Apple 30 pin connector.  With all three connectors being part of the cable, there are no adapter pieces to loose or misplace. The only downside is that the cable is a bit expensive at $35. I noticed that Amazon also has a similar function cable offering for a lot less ($5). The Amazom cable has an additional fourth USB connector (mini USB).

We'll be trying these cables on our next trip. They should reduce the need to carry several standalone recharging cables. Either could be a great Xmas stocking stuffer. Having both could provide a backup function, should one fail.

Cable from Amazon
UPDATE: When an item looks too good to be true ..... The $5 cable purchased from an Amazon vendor was a complete failure. This USB cable only provided power to one of the four connections. The Amazon vendor provided a refund for the cable. The Brookstone power cable worked as advertised.
