After a late afternoon flight from Cairo to Luxor (Ancient Thebes), we made a pre-dinner visit to Luxor Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage site is located on the east bank of the Nile River and was constructed around 1400 BC. The temple is dedicated to the rejuvenation of the Egyptian ruler, the site perhaps being used for crowning ceremonies. Amenhotep III, Tutankhamun and Ramses II guided construction of Luxor Temple.
